The busy lab technician might forget to instruct you. Void the first half, take the mid stream, pass the urine to the technician, he or she will process it and you will get a better result.

Abnormal dysmorphic urinary red blood cells in glomerulonephritis.
Normal urinary red blood cell in non-glomerulonpehritis hematuria.
